SKOL Vikings win against Bears

SKOL Vikings win against Bears

Yesterday was another huge win for our ball club! Not only was it a divisional game, but it was the first time that we were able to have a season sweep of our divisional rival the Chicago Bears in quite a while. Moving forward, we have to get ready for the New York Giants. As a defense we have to continue to do what we did yesterday and that is all 11 guys doing their job and being where they have to be when the call is made. We also have to create turnovers to get the ball back in our offenses hands.  Offensively we have to take care of the ball and sustain and finish drives. We've shown that when we are able to do these things then we can play with anyone in the league.  We can't be satisfied with where we are and having the opportunity to make the playoffs. We need to push hard now and Try to win out so we can win the division and make a strong playoff push. This team doesn't have the attitude to be happy with just making the playoffs, we want to be champions!  We can only do that by working harder, being smarter and being more disciplined than our opponent. we have to outwork, out hit and out run our opponent. Skol Vikes!

Reflections from Denver

Reflections from Denver

This past weekend we were able finish up the first quarter of the season; playing the Denver Broncos, unfortunately we came up on the wrong side, losing 23 to 20.  I was very proud of our team, I thought we fought really hard against a very good Denver Bronco team.  On Saturday I was able to get out and go to the Eagle Claw factory, it was quiet an experience.  I was able to see how they make the hooks, everything from treble hooks, crappie hooks up to Trokar hooks.  It was cool to see how they do their shipping, storage, and just run the factory.  I had a blast there with the guys meeting those behind the scenes and have a new found respect for what they do.  I am looking forward the bye week and being able to do some fishing with some friends and coming back to this next 12 game stretch and hopefully give our team a playoff push.

Thoughts on our win Sunday against the Steelers

Thoughts on our win Sunday against the Steelers

As you were able to see Sundaynight, the Minnesota Vikings were able to kick off the 2015 season and what better place to do it than in Canton, Ohio where the Football Hall of Fame is located. We were able go in the night before and see the Hall of Fame; it was such an awesome experience to be a part of.  Going in and seeing the history and the guys who paved the way before you; it was a tremendous honor to know you are part of that brotherhood.  As you were able to see on Sunday we played the Pittsburgh Steelers and were able to win with a score of 14-3.  I thought our defense did a very good job of holding our opponents to only a field goal.  Even when we faced adversity, I thought we stood up and played great.  Our offense was also able to put up a few points and be able to drive the ball down the field a few times.  All in all, I think we still have room to get better, but as I have said before I have high expectations for our team and I think Sunday was the first step in that direction. Now we have to just continue to work hard every day and good things will happen.

Training camp, pads go on today and the beat up starts

Training camp, pads go on today and the beat up starts

We are in full swing with training camp: pads are on and the hitting has begun. We are working hard, pushing ourselves to the limit, and it feels good! Thanks to all the fans that showed up at training camp, we do this for you, our families, and our team. Temps are in the mid 80's and the sun keeps us hot and our bodies pumping!  I drink a 33.8 oz bottle of Qure Water when I get up to jump start the hydration process.
